Ferret Show Health & Welfare Guidelines

This downloadable pdf provides clear, practical guidance on maintaining ferret health and welfare at shows across the UK.

It includes both our Recommended Minimum Requirements—the essential standards that must be followed at every event to ensure a basic, acceptable level of biosecurity—and Best Practice Examples, which outline higher-level measures to be adopted where there is increased risk.

While recommended measures form the foundation of responsible show management, best practices assume that all minimum requirements are already in place and aim to further enhance protection and welfare.

We encourage all show organisers, stewards, and participants to familiarise themselves with these guidelines and strive for the highest standards of care and safety.
